    Abul Kashem Md. Shirin Joins Filps as Advisor for Bangladesh

    As Filps deepens its commitment to Bangladesh, Abul Kashem Md. Shirin, former Managing Director and CEO of Dutch-Bangla Bank PLC, joins us as Adviser for Bangladesh, bringing deep local banking expertise as the country’s banks accelerate digital transformation.

    Mr. Shirin will advise Filps on Bangladesh’s banking-sector priorities, regulatory and digital finance agenda, and governance and resilience standards.

    He served as Managing Director and CEO of Dutch-Bangla Bank for more than nine years, following nearly eight years as Deputy Managing Director and six years as Head of its Information Technology division.

    During his time at the bank, he played a key role in expanding its digital financial infrastructure, including its ATM and POS network and Rocket, its mobile financial services platform. He was also involved in the adoption of biometric agent banking, EMV cards, QR payments and app-based banking.

    Mr. Shirin currently serves as an independent director on the board of Shimanto Bank. Before joining Dutch-Bangla Bank, he served as Deputy General Manager and Head of IT at BASIC Bank.

    Filps solutions are already operating at leading commercial banks in Bangladesh, with work spanning digital banking, digital lending, merchant ecosystems, and fraud and risk intelligence.

    The appointment further strengthens Filps’ engagement with Bangladesh’s banking and digital finance sector.
